ENGRAVED TIKI LOUNGE BOARDS ARE AVAILABLE

This photo was taken on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 celebrating the first group of memorial TIKI Boards purchased by the membership.

Post 137 has initiated a fund raising program for our Post Building Fund with the installation of engraved (routered) boards being placed within the confines of our outdoor TIKI Lounge.  If interested please contact or see Eddie Dykes or Craig Rashaw who will be glad to provide you with an application.

Apr 27th - Policemen/Firemen’s Appreciation Dinner

Lake Shore Legion Post 137 is pleased to announce the 16th Annual Policemen/Firemen’s Appreciation Dinner will be held at 1:00 pm on the afternoon of Sunday, April 27, 2013, on the “Westside the Bestside” at our post home.

“Post 137 looks forward to a good turnout of Jacksonville’s Finest and will again honor both a Law Enforcement and Firefighter Officer of the year, said Post Commander Emory Austin”.  This dinner and short ceremony is one of many Community Programs sponsored annually by American Legion Post 137.

This event is free of charge to the Policemen and Firemen and will be held in the Moon Building, located on our property, which is named for JSO Officer James H. Moon, who was killed in the line of duty in 1971.  Representatives of the JSO, JFRD and the Highway Patrol will be personally invited to attend the event.

REGULAR EVENTS

Keep in mind, even when we're not having special events, every single week there is always something happening at the Post. Regular events such as ...

• Darts Club and Tournaments on Tuesday nights
• Karaoke on Wednesday nights
• Dinner and Live entertainment on Friday nights
• Football (both college and NFL) on the Big Screen on Saturday and Sunday (when in season), as well as NASCAR on most weekends when in season
• Live entertainment also on Saturday nights
• Breakfast served every Sunday morning

RECENT EVENTS

Mar 15th - Tiki Opened

The Lake Shore Post 137 TIKI Lounge was officially opened on Friday, March 15, 2013. It will be open weekly on Friday's (6:00 til 10:00 pm), Saturday's (1:00 til 8:00pm) and Sunday's (1:00 til 8:00pm).

Our friendly bartenders will be serving your favorite refreshments while you are having a good time watching the three televisions provided for your viewing pleasure or listening to the stereo music. Sunday's will include live Karaoke with "Debbie Jean and Jimbo". By popular request, Commander Austin has agreed to not sing more than once a week.

Come on bye and enjoy the atmosphere. Join the fun and camaraderie at North Florida's best TIKI Lounge!

Apr 20th - Annual Post Luau

This annual event was on Saturday afternoon, April 20th. Dinner consisted of pulled pork, complete with trimmings and plenty of fruit, all for a small donation of $5.

Live entertainment was the band Double-Shot performing outside for your listening and dancing pleasure. The TIKI Lounge was in full swing serving your favorite drinks. Our inside lounge also accommodated those who needed the air conditioning.
